Translation
One who sets a trap in burnt veld should be prepared to have his backside soiled.
Inspiration
When setting a stone trap, one will most likely sit on the ground while doing so. In burnt grass, the backside becomes soiled with ash as a result.
Application
One who has decided to carry out a difficult task must not be deterred by any inconvenience, or by what people might say.
Similarly, one must be prepared to face the consequences of their actions.
